Ieva Nimane is musician, born in Riga and studied modern oboe (2003) at Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music. In following years interest to Early Music and historically informed performance started to emerge and Ieva took up recorder and accomplished her Master studies in Early Music in JVLMA (2008) and studied recorder and modern oboe also in Grieg Academy, University in Bergen (2011). To accomplish historical practice when musicians played more than one instrument, Ieva turned to baroque oboe and finished her Master studies (2017) also being a student in historical oboe class in Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag, Netherland.

Ieva is a musician in baroque orchestra Collegium Musicum Riga, historical wind instrument ensemble Stadt-Hautboisten Riga. Participant in numerous early music projects in Latvia and also abroad.

Other great passion of her is folk music. Ieva masters different traditional wind instruments such as bagpipes, whistles, overtone flutes etc. As traditional wind instrument player she has participated in many projects, playing with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, States Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, Latvian Radio Choir. Special relation Ieva has with vocal group Schola Cantorum Riga where traditional music and improvisation blends with gregorian chant in magnificent soundscape.

Ieva teaches traditional wind instrument and historical woodwind instrument playing in Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music.
