Christmas all over the world – teaser

Christmas is being celebrated all over the world – everybody wants to give praise to newborn King, from Alps to Himalayas, in streets of Puerto Rico and up in the mountains in cold Norwegian winter night. We celebrate diversity in this concert. With music from Italy, Spain, France, Argentina, Brazil, Norway, Poland and Latvia we take our listeners to a journey all around the Globe to be present at that moment of birth of Christ.

Diversity not only in musical choice. Program gathers wonderful musicians. First of all, the author of this amazing program – soprano Evita Zālīte, she keeps the energy high during performance and gives insight about traditions how different nations celebrate Christmas. All arrangements are made by Ilze Grunte (guitar, celtic harp, mandolin) on songs which mostly are considered to be folk songs, but Ilze manages to bring out identity of every song by fragile instrumentation. Ainārs Paukšēns (violoncello) is a wonderful addition to this company. Diversity is the word again to describe instruments played by Ieva Nīmane – oboe, recorders, overtone flute, whistles, bagpipe and even Armenian duduk played in well known Christmas carol directly describes main idea of program.

Towards Christmas musicians will join again to bring message about birth of King and you can travel along with them and witness it.
