Great variety of music from Latvia, Balkans, Scandinavia and many more. Jēkabs Nīmanis, well-known composer and musician, established this group to express his way in folk music interpretation, showing what folk music means to him in genres he works daily – chamber music, theatre music etc. Togehter with his sister Ieva Nimane and her passion to folk music it makes unique combination where still Latvian traditional music heritage remains the main source for band’s musical material. With Jēkabs Nīmanis on guitar, clarinet, tin whistle and voice; Ieva Nimane on oboe, recorder, bagpipes, kokle, voice, there are also two excellent musicians bringing, from the first sight, unusual colour into folk music project – Artūrs Bērziņš (trombone, tuba) and Ernests Mediņš (vibraphone, percussions). Musicians truly enjoy to perfome this program as folk music of any kind resonates in all of us strongly, in “Māsa Latvija” combination taking listeners to musical journey with a light flavour of chamber music.
